When are the classes?
Dancing takes place every Tuesday night.
Beginners are welcome at any time but please contact us before your first class. Classes are held from September through June with occasional social dancing during the summer.
Where are the classes held?
The Dance Space, 6004A W. Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23230
The Dance Space is on the second floor of a small shopping center directly on Broad Street, located half way between Horsepen Road and Libbie Avenue on the North side of Broad. The studio is above the Mekong Restaurant and the entrance is to the right of the Mekong.
How much are membership dues and class fees?
The first night of Tuesday class is FREE! Beginner Class is $3 per class and Social Dance Class is $5 per class. A $10 annual membership fee is due after you attend your second Social Dance class.

The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society was formed in Glasgow in 1923. Its main objectives are:
What should I wear to class?
Preferred wear for ladies is skirts or dresses, soft flat shoes such as unblocked ballet slippers or tennis shoes. Gentlemen are not required to wear kilts to class.
What else should I know?
I have seen a "cheat sheet" for the dances. How can I tell what the abbreviations mean?

- To collect manuscripts and history of Scottish dances with diagrams and music
What should I wear to class?

What else should I know?
- No partner or previous experience is needed!
- Dances and classes are all "fragrance free" to respect the health concerns of other dancers.
